Ingredients

  • 2 medium boiled potatoes mashed
  • 1 green chili finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon onion finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon tomato finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon grated carrot
  • 1 tablespoon fresh coriander leaves chopped
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper powder
  • 1 teaspoon pav bhaji masala
  • Salt to taste
For Assembling
  • 4 bread slices
  • 4 –5 tablespoons sesame seeds
  • 1 tablespoon butter for roasting

Method

Prepare the Potato Mixture
  1. Place the boiled potatoes in a mixing bowl. Mash them thoroughly using a potato masher or fork until smooth.
  2. Add chopped green chili, chopped onion, chopped tomato, grated carrot, chopped coriander leaves, black pepper powder, pav bhaji masala, and salt.
  3. Mix everything together until evenly combined.
  4. Place the bread slices on a flat surface.
  5. Spread the prepared potato mixture generously over one side of each bread slice.
  6. Using a sharp knife, cut each bread slice diagonally into two triangles.
  7. Spread sesame seeds on a plate.
  8. Press the potato-coated side of each bread triangle into the sesame seeds. Gently press so the seeds stick evenly across the surface.
  9. Heat a non-stick pan over low flame. Grease the pan evenly with butter.
  10. Place the bread triangles on pan. Roast for about 1 minute until golden and crispy.
  11. Carefully flip and roast the bread side for another minute. Continue cooking until both sides are beautifully golden.
  12. Transfer the crispy toast to a serving plate. Serve immediately with green chutney, ketchup, or your favorite dip.

Notes

  • Always roast on low flame for even crispiness.
  • Use fresh bread for best results.
  • Do not skip sesame seeds as they provide crunch and flavor.
  • Serve immediately after roasting.
  • Adjust spice level according to preference.
  • Apply the potato mixture thickly for better texture.
